Turn Any iOS Device Into An AirPlay Receiver With AirFloat | Cydia Tweak

Posted on Feb 16 2013 - 6:09pm by Muhammad Umer

AirFloat is a new Cydia tweak that allows us to transform any of our iOS devices into an AirPlay receiver   by simply using our Wifi network, so no need to resort to an Apple TV or an AirPort Express.

AirFloat is not really a new tweak, although it is released now on Cydia, it was previously released on the App Store before being removed by Apple about a year ago. The project was then resumed a few months ago and appeared on Cydia.

The tweak appears in the form of a normal application that will be installed on our Springboard and, once opened we can activate the AirPlay receiver. Of course it is advisable to install the tweak on old or device we use little in order to make the most carefree usage.

For example, we can leave an iPod permanently connected to home stereo to send all our songs on iPad or iPhone and then listening to them through the stereo speakers.

Tweak of course also works with the device in standby mode in order to conserve battery life or do something else while playing music.

AirFloat is available for free on Cydia in the BigBoss repo.
