It was only a matter of time, and today we can confirm that the last operation implemented by Facebook has ruined the party of Vine. Introducing the Video Sharing on Instagram, Facebook has brought down the sharing of Vine by about70%.
The graph shows that the share of Vine has continued to grow fairly steadily through the beginning of June, but in the middle of the month – when Video feature appeared on Instagram – has dropped dramatically. Nearly 3 million Vine connections were shared on Twitter on June 15, but only 2.5 million were shared on June 19.
The real decline of Vine appeared on June 20, only 1.5 million links were shared on that day, and this number is still declining ever since. On June 26, only 900,000 Vine connections were shared. This translates into a decline of 70 percent compared to the previous periods, after the announcement of the Video function of Instagram.
