Time Magazine has declared the new jewel of Apple, iPhone 5 as a best gadget of the year, beating Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Note 2.
Time Magazine, the most widely read magazine in the world, on Tuesday has drafted a classification including the best products of 2012. The iPhone 5 is in first place in the ranking of the top 10 gadgets of the year. The magazine defines it as ”one of the best technological gadgets of all time, with a screen taller than previous generations in a thinner and lighter case.”
There are also references to the camera and the new Panorama function and digs to direct competition, in particular the Samsung Galaxy S3:
There are several smartphones in the market that try to compete with the iPhone, including the arch-rival Samsung, the Galaxy S3. But when it comes to combining hardware, software and services, Apple still has no equal.

Honesty gadget of the year should be something innovative, most of these are not that. The only exceptions are Raspberry Pi, Lytro, Nest, and perhaps surface.
