iOS 6: Problems With Wi-Fi And Bluetooth For Users Of iPhone 4S And iPad 3

Posted on Sep 28 2012 - 9:49am by Muhammad Umer

Many users of iPad 3 and iPhone 4S complain about connection problems with the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth after installing iOS 6. The connect button is grayed out and is not activated.  Some do-it-yourself remedies seems to resolve the situation: Apple is already aware of the problem.

The problem seems to affect a large number of users, in the Apple discussion forum there are more than 90 pages post reported the malfunction.

As a solution, some users have downgraded the operating system and re-installed iOS 5.1, others suggest to reinstall iOS 6 or reset the network settings. These two solutions do not seem to solve the problem for all users.

In U.S some users have shown the problem to Apple employees in the Apple Store, in some cases smartphones or tablet is replaced if it is under warranty. Other users who have contacted the support staff stated that Apple is already aware of the problem. By the time Apple has not issued an official statements on the issue.

I have a brand new 4s running iOS6.0.1. The phone initially connected to the bluetooth in the car but dropped out the next time I got in the car. Impossible to get it back on with selecting ” forget this device” and repairing with the car unit. Having done that a couple of times it is not connecting or even recognizing there is a device to connect to. Ready to throw it put the window! Extremely disappointing, cannot believe Apple have not got this automatic. I would be better keeping my seven year old Motorola that connected every single time!

Almost it is similar issue with my 4s. I installed Windows-8 on laptop and trying to play music, though device paired properly and showing in laptop, still not playing music.
I even uninstall drivers and reinstalled, no use!

Bluetooth wasn’t working, upgraded the ios and then Bluetooth worked but wifi broke. it connects for about 3 seconds to wifi and then dumps it back to 4g. AT&T is throttling my data because of my useage…Hate this phone. Reset a million times and tried every other offered correction online. No warranty, just hosed…one year left on the contract. Boo.
