iOS 6.0.1 is out and everyone was anxiously waiting for jailbreak, glad to announce that new version of iOS can be successfully jailbroken using the jailbreak tool Redsn0w.
Recently Dev Team released an update of the jailbreak tool Redsn0w version 0.9.15b3, this update doesn’t include support for iOS 6 yet, but you can still jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4th generation using the previous version of Redsn0w.
Note: This is tethered jailbreak for A-4 or lower devices only.
Requirements:
- Redsn0w 0.9.15b3
- A4 or lower devices
- iOS 6 for your device
Follow the steps below to jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 on A4 or lower devices.
1. Download Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 and iOS 6 for your device from below links:
2. Connect your iDevice to PC or Mac and place it in DFU mode.
3. From the main menu of Redsn0w click on Extras.
4. Select IPSW and then select iOS 6 file stored in your system for your iOS device.
5. Go to main menu of Redsn0w application and click Jailbreak button, a process will start.
6. From the next menu select Install Cydia and click Next, jailbreak process will start.
7. On completion of jailbreak process you will be back on your iDevice lock screen.
8. Again place your iOS device in DFU mode.
9. From the main page of Redsn0w click on Extras button and then click Just Boot. This will perform a tethered boot on your device, once it’s done your device will reboot with a bitten pineapple logo.
10. Once device will reboot, you’ll have Cydia icon on your Home Screen.
That’s it! You have successfully jailbroken your iOS device and install Cydia.

I followed your whole process for jailbreaking my iPhone 3gs with iOS 6.0.1
I also seen the bitten pineapple logo after just boot but i don’t get cydia….

As the above said, after you did the whole process, you must reboot it again and put the idevice on DFU mode. but if you already did that, you must redo it and star from the top.

i have jailbroken my ipod touch now, and i need to boot tethered. if i do that i get an error. i have a screenshot from that. it says something like: missing keys.plist data for this build.
what should i do?

For everyone with the MISSING KEYS.PLIST ERROR
1. Exit redsn0w and turn off your phone and unplug it
2. Plug your phone back in and then enter DFU mode without opening redsn0w yet. DFU=(3 sec lock button, 10 sec home and lock button, 15 second just home button).
3. Once in DFU mode, find redsn0w on your computer, right click on it and take ownership/run as administrator!
4. Open redsn0w, go to Extras>>Select IPSW>> select the 6.0 IPSW.
5. Go back, Jailbreak! let it do its thing and install cydia and then once the jailbreak is done and phone booted on, turn off your phone.
6. Exit redsn0w, unplug your device, plug it back in and put the phone into DFU mode! Open redsn0w!
7. In redsn0w go to extras>>select IPSW (6.0).
8. Extras>>Just Boot>> This is the only fix for the missing keys.plist error!!

Oh my God. Your carrier maybe offlined your iphone. That “no service” usually seen on the idevice that has been offlined. Maybe the carrier detected that you have jailbroken your device which is illegal.
Exit redsn0w and turn off your phone and unplug it, and remove the sim*****

Hi, I tried to jailbreak my iphone 3GS having the IOS 6.0.1 using the method as above. Although it went through the whole process without failed, when i select the firmware for iOS6 . My cydia does not work at all ? Can anyone help ?
If i tried to jailbreak it with the firmware 6.0.1 , it says the Redsnow could not recognize it at all ?

So I did it and the pineapple logo was on for a while then the phone booted but it keeps forcing me to activate the phone and then it says “Activation request could not be completed.” PLEASE HELP! IM DESPERATE!

i have method to get service after jailbreaking on ios 6.0.1 & 6.0
first of all jailbreak with redsnow 0.9.15b3, select ispw file 6.0 after that go back and click on jailbreak after that tick install cydia & downgrade baseband booth shoul be ticked(selected)
(note that:- ur iphone should have 6.15.00 baseband)
after jailbreaking u see ur baseband downgrade to 5.13.04
now go to cydia, wait some time after cydia loaded its packages
go to tha manage, now select source, add source and type this source

when source pkg download completed go to the search in cydia and type ultrasnow
now u can see there are two files ultra snow and ultrasnow fixer
now first install ultrasnow fixer and then ultrasnow
after restart spring board go to setting and active airplane mode
now restart your iphone
(ipmortant note :- who has iphone 3gs ol boot room must start ur iphone with ultrasnow just boot thetered method, and those who have iphone 3gs new boot room there iphone star automatically but is recommended they should be also start there iphone from ultrasnow just boot thetered method because if u didnot do this step ur cydia will crashes u can check this:-)
after just boot thetered go to setting and turn off air plane modd now u can see iphone says no sim, now pull in sim and wait for 2 minute
vola after searching u got ur signal (service).
there is no other method without downgrading baseband 6.15.00 to 5.13.04 so those people they have on another basebands first upgrade thier baseband to 6.15.00 this ting u got after installing ios 5.1.1 firmware its also update ur baseband to 6.15.00 and then u can easily downgarde to 5.13.04 base band
