How To Free Up Space On Your iOS Device By Deleting Cache And Temporary Files

If it happens to you that your iDevice memory is full, but you don’t have that much content on your device. If you find yourself in this situation, then the solution we are about to offer could prove very useful.

When we decide to buy an iPhone 16GB rather than 32GB or 64GB we do our calculations based on how many music tracks and videos we upload and how we want to manage our camera roll. If after some time of use we have the memory full, it is said that our calculations are wrong, but we simply not take storage of App into consideration.

To check the space every application occupies on our device, go to the:

Settings -> General -> Usage

To remove junk files from your iOS device you have two options. The first option can be expensive, in a sense that you have to jailbreak your iDevice to install the App from Cydia store named iCleaner or you can go for PhoneClean, free software for Windows.

PhoneClean allows you to free up extra space occupied by the content that the app “retain” and that in most cases can be considered useless.

PhoneClean is very intuitive to use: install in just a few clicks, connect your device, the program scans and at this point we can choose to delete the unnecessary data permanently. For a detailed guide, please consult the official website.

PhoneClean is freeware and you can download it from the official website by following this link. Please note that it is only available for Windows users, in particular, requires Windows 7, 8, Vista or XP (64bit & 32bit) and you must have installed iTunes 9.0 or later. It is compatible with all models of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

For those who have a Jailbroken device, there are many viable alternatives that can be used directly from the device; among other tweaks we recommend the free iCleaner available on Cydia.
