Display of iPhone 5 Under Microscope

Following the declaration of DisplayMate reporting that the iPhone 5 has the best display than the current smartphones available in market. Here are some shots of iPhone 5 display taken under microscope to check its quality.

According to a quick comparison with the iPhone 4 display, you can see a noticeable improvement. The two iPhone models are fitted with the same Retina display, with the same number of pixels, but the colors seem enhanced.

Below you can see a clear difference in the pixels.

According to the press release from Apple, the new iPhone 5 has a display with an improved color saturation by 44% compared with the iPhone 4S. You can clearly see the results in images.

    If you need a microscope to tell the difference I think it defeats the purpose of paying for a more expensive display.

      You don’t need a microscope, the difference is pretty obvious. These images just shows it at a pixel-level.

      You’re not paying more. In fact, you are paying the same amount of money for much better hardware.

      If you’re looking at the devices side-by-side, you can see the difference. But taking a picture and posting it on the web makes it hard to convey it. Putting it under a microscope helps show some of the differences in a more objective way. I’m not saying whether or not the difference is “worth it”, especially since there are other improvements included in that upgrade price.
