According to the latest rumors, Apple has filed for ownership of “iWatch” trademark in Russia, the same name that is used to refer to wrist accessory of the Cupertino company.
The news was first reported by Russian site Izvestia.ru, according to which Apple would have applied to register the name “iWatch”, particularly in the classes 9 and 14th for the international classification of goods and services. However it was not possible to verify the company’s registration request at the Russian Federal service known as Rospatent.
Apple is not new in this type of practice, as in the past had already filed for property of some product names have not yet been formalized, but always with the utmost discretion. For example, in 2006 the Cupertino Company began to get the rights to the iPad name from a British company, called “IP Application Development” or “IPAD Ltd”.
Other rumors seem to confirm that the first registration of the trademark “iWatch” has taken place in Jamaica in December 2012. In any case, the rumors about the new Apple devices are becoming more insistent, in confirmation of the project now underway among the ranks of Cupertino. The analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, said that we will not see a device like this before the end of 2014.
