Google has won the ranking of the most used applications with 5 applications in the first 6 places. The first place is occupied by Facebook, but according to the research firm Zuckerberg occupies that position only because of the Apple’s decision to replace Google Maps with Apple Maps on iOS 6 which resulted decline in the usage of the app.
As we can see from the chart, in the ranking of most popular applications include many of Google’s products (Maps, Play, Search, Gmail and YouTube), Facebook at the top of the podium and a “paltry” eighth place for iTunes.
The research firm comScore said, however, that Google Maps would have to be in first place in this ranking if only Apple had not decided to remove it from iOS 6. Here is a graph that shows the use of Facebook and Google Maps over the course of 2012:
It must be said that the time which we devote to applications, according to the research, is employed for about one third of Facebook and Google.
As for eighth place by iTunes, in comparison, Android Google Play occupies the third position in the standings.
